On June 5, 2025, Camp Humphreys officially renamed its Freedom Chapel to honor Chaplain (Capt.) Emil J. Kapaun—Korean War hero, POW, Medal of Honor recipient, and Catholic priest. From humble beginnings in Kansas to courageous service in Korea, Kapaun’s legacy of faith and sacrifice continues to inspire.

Military spouses at USAG Humphreys took center stage during Combat Spouses Day, an action-packed event that tested grit, strength, and teamwork. From obstacle courses to military trivia, the day brought spouses together in a powerful display of resilience and community.

Apache Appreciation Day at Camp Humphreys brought the community together to explore Apache helicopters up close, meet pilots and crews, and enjoy family-friendly activities. A memorable event celebrating military families, teamwork, and aviation.
