Step Into a Treetop Adventure: The Skywalk Doorway at Buraksan
After a year and a half of being closed, my favorite trail on Buraksan Mountain has reopened: the Buraksan Skywalk in Pyeongtaek, also known as the Skywalk Doorway trail (하늘숲길).
Nestled among the trees, the Buraksan Skywalk's raised walkway, lets you explore the forest from above, almost like stepping into a giant treehouse. The trail winds through a shaded path elevated more than 20 feet off the ground, and it’s both safe and exciting for kids and adults alike.
Along the way, you’ll find several different trail treads, like the clear bridge and the wooden stepping stones with different animal footprints! The experience is peaceful, refreshing, and a nice change from traditional hiking paths.

What to Expect at the Buraksan Skywalk Pyeongtaek Trail
This forest skywalk in Pyeongtaek is a great way to enjoy the outdoors without a strenuous hike. You can hustle through the entire thing in about 5 minutes sans kids, but I highly recommend taking your time and enjoying the walk. Release your inner child and remember what it felt like to let your imagination run wild in a treehouse!
I’m a big advocate for spending as much time as possible outdoors and I love that this trail has just enough excitement to entice any kid to lace up their shoes and go for a hike. Pair it with a trip to Prefer for coffee and treats, a weekend playground day or a summer splash pad visit for the kids to make the most of your visit to Buraksan.
This is one of the best family hiking trails in Pyeongtaek, perfect for parents and kids alike.

Buraksan Skywalk Pyeongtaek: Hours and Visitor Information
Open: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Closed: Mondays, public holidays and during bad weather
Great for families: Easy, non-strenuous, high rails on the sides
Cost: FREE !!!!
Visiting the Buraksan Skywalk in Pyeongtaek is simple and stress-free. The trail is managed by the city, so it’s kept in excellent condition, and since there’s no admission fee, it makes for one of the most budget-friendly family outings in Pyeongtaek. Arrive early on weekends or holidays if you want to avoid crowds, as it’s a popular stop for both locals and military families stationed nearby.
Because the walkway is elevated, it may close during rain or high winds for safety reasons—so be sure to check the forecast before you go. Families with younger children or strollers will be happy to know that the entrance areas and walkways are wide enough to move comfortably. However, since there are a lot of stairs, it is recommended not to bring the stroller along the trail. For a relaxed visit, pair your walk with coffee or a snack at Prefer in Forest Café, located just across from one of the main parking lots.

Parking for the Buraksan Skywalk in Pyeongtaek
There are two convenient places to park depending on how you want to start your adventure.
Buraskan Culture Park parking lot: This is the closest parking lot for the playground area. Park here, look for the waterfall or the rock wall that looks like it WOULD be a waterfall and take the first set of stairs you see on to the mountain.
If you’re planning to grab coffee or a treat before or after your walk, park in the large lot across from Prefer. This cafe is a great stop if you’re looking for things to do in Pyeongtaek with kids.

Prefer in Forest: Park in the large parking lot across from Prefer and look for the gated trail near the bathrooms on the hill. It’s an easy walk and a nice way to pair your outing with a café stop.
Both lots are free, but they can fill up on weekends, so plan to arrive a bit earlier if you want a stress-free start to your visit.

Tips for Visiting the Buraksan Skywalk in Pyeongtaek
Before heading to the Buraksan Skywalk in Pyeongtaek, here are a few things to keep in mind:
