USAG Daegu Change of Command 2025 Marks New Era of Leadership

U.S. Army Garrison Daegu held a Change of Command and Change of Responsibility Ceremony on July 9, 2025, marking a new chapter in the garrison’s leadership. Garrison Commander Col. Dave Henning relinquished command to Col. Jeffrey Noll, and Command Sgt. Maj. Asgar Kamaludeen transferred responsibility to Command Sgt. Maj. Daniel Hopkins.

Honoring the Legacy of Col. Henning and Sgt. Maj. Kamaludeen

The former command team of Area IV served the community with distinction, embodying what it means to lead with purpose, care, and professionalism. Their steadfast dedication to service members, civilians, and their families alike has left a meaningful and lasting impact, not just on mission success but on the spirit of the community itself. During their time in Area IV, the former command team played a vital role in shaping military leadership in Korea.

A Command Team That Made a Difference in Area IV

United on the RoK is especially grateful for their commitment to community connections, outreach, and their signature “Make a Difference” philosophy that guided all they did for the garrison. Their philosophy resonated throughout the USAG Daegu Change of Command 2025 events and across the broader military community in Daegu.

Special appreciation is also extended to Mrs. Michelle Henning and Mrs. Melanie Kamaludeen for their dedicated service to the Area IV community, including their leadership on school advisory committees and volunteer organizations that directly enriched the lives of military families.

Welcoming Col. Jeffrey Noll and Sgt. Maj. Daniel Hopkins

This transition represents not only a new command team but a key moment in the Area IV leadership transition for U.S. Army Korea.

The community now welcomes Area IV’s new Garrison Commander, Col. Jeffrey Noll, who arrives from his previous role as Chief of Staff of Army Cyber Command, Fort Gordon, Georgia, and Command Sgt. Maj. Daniel Hopkins, formerly Command Sgt. Maj. for USAG Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Both bring a wealth of experience and fresh perspectives. We look forward to continued excellence and community-building under their leadership. The new USAG Daegu command team is expected to strengthen community ties while continuing vital support missions across Area IV.

Continuing the Mission: Support, Sustainment, and Community

Together, the USAG Daegu Command Team will continue the vital mission of sustainment, support, and defense, while fostering an environment where service members, civilians, and their families can thrive in Area IV. This mission aligns closely with the goals outlined during the USAG Daegu Change of Command 2025 ceremony and the garrison’s ongoing commitment to military families in Korea.

Their impact will be remembered as a defining legacy of military leadership in Korea. Their time at the helm was marked not only by operational excellence but also by a profound commitment to building strong, inclusive community ties. Their legacy of connection and service will continue to inspire those who remain.
