Leo Chow: The Must-Try Mexican Restaurant in Daegu

Authentic Mexican Flavors Near Camp Walker

Not far from Camp Walker is Daegu’s favorite taqueria and Mexican restaurant in Daegu. For those who may not know Spanish, a taqueria is a taco shop, and Leo’s taco shop is simply delicious! He opened the restaurant in 2006 and has served Mexican food for nearly 20 years.

A Warm Welcome and a Taste of Mexico in Korea

When you walk into the taqueria, there’s a warm energy where you immediately feel welcome. As a Puerto Rican, speaking Spanish with Leo was a joy as we are so far from other Spanish-speaking countries.

There are Mexican touches throughout the restaurant too! From the vibrant colors and serape tablecloths to the music and even the staff's uniforms, it feels like a little piece of Mexico right here in Korea!

From Quesadillas to Chili Pork: Delicious Choices for Everyone

Service here is fabulous. The waitstaff was welcoming, helpful, and attentive to my family’s needs. Leo Chow’s has a varied menu with many Mexican dishes like nacho bowls, chimichangas, quesadillas, chili pork (sweet or spicy), rice pilaf, and taco rice.

A plate of rice with shredded cheese and sauce sits on a colorful striped tablecloth, with a spoon placed on the plate's edge.

For the kids, they have a smaller plate with rice, quesadilla, chicken nuggets, and fries. I tried the pilaf and chili pork (sweet). My kids have gotten the kid's plate and they love it. Even my picky kid loved the quesadillas!
